Laser treatment
The laser is one of the most innovative developments in dentistry in recent years.
Better diagnosis — shorter treatments — less pain — faster healing — more comfort!
But not all lasers are the same. Different wavelengths for different applications require several devices.
We’re proud to be one of the very few dental practices in Germany that owns all relevant types of lasers and has been using them consistently and successfully for years with a great deal of experience in almost every type of treatment. To put it in figures, we have already treated thousands of fillings, root canal treatments and periodontally damaged teeth with the laser.
What is a laser anyway?
A laser is actually just a particularly high-energy type of light whose intensity can be precisely dosed. These properties make the laser a surprisingly gentle and tissue-conserving form of therapy, which we use primarily in the fields of periodontology and endodontology..
The manifold properties of light energy enable you to use a gentle yet highly effective treatment in the following areas:
- Drilling without drill for fillings
- Caries diagnosis in places that are difficult to detect
- Root canal treatments in one session without pain
- Permanent elimination of periodontosis
- Scar-free and bleeding-free surgery
- Sensitive teeth/tooth necks
- Immediate elimination of herpes simplex on the lips
- Allowing aphthae to heal faster
- Exposing and impressioning implants without anaesthesia instead of cutting with a scalpel at several appointments

Our types of lasers
Er:YAG (Erbium:YAG):
- Drilling without drill for fillings
- Exposing implants without anaesthesia
- Bone block grafts
- Scar-free removal of growths
- Crown extensions
- Root apex resections (RAR)
Nd:YAG (Neodym:YAG), similar to diode laser but more effective:
- Root canal sterilisation
- Pocket disinfection for periodontosis
- Immediate healing of herpes
- Faster healing of aphthae
- Treating of sensitive dental necks
Diagnodent:
- Objective diagnosis and depth measurement of caries in places that are otherwise difficult or impossible to assess
